This training based upon the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard 29 CFR 1910.1030 and is designed to educate Bystanders and Rescuers in some of the pathogenic exposure risks inherent in first aid contact. The course includes discussion of symptoms of Bloodborne Diseases, an explanation of the modes of transmission, the recognition of tasks that may involve exposure, an explanation of Universal Precautions, Work Practice Controls, Administrative Controls, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment. The course will also discuss the employer’s responsibilities, including the availability of an Exposure Control Plan, and employee accessibility to the Hepatitis B vaccine.

The BLS for Healthcare Provider renewal program is an abridged four (4) hour curriculum for students that already have current BLS cards. Topics covered in this course: This program is almost all video-based, and includes excellent graphics detailing how the heart works. After the student has demonstrated to the instructor the proper techniques of how to successfully perform Adult, Child, Infant CPR and AED, the student will then take the written test. After the test is completed and has met all criteria, the student will receive their certificate of completion, course completion card, and letter of completion. To be able to take the four hour renewal course, students should be currently certified in BLS.

One of our most popular courses, this course combines lectures, demonstrations and video with hands-on training and practice. Participants in this course learn to recognize and respond to emergencies including shock, cardiac and breathing emergencies for adults, children and infants, heat and cold emergencies, sudden illnesses and poisonings. Additionally, participants will learn first aid for everything from cuts and scrapes to muscle, bone and joint injuries.
