RescueAED Donates AED to local American Heart Association Office

Rescue AED donated a Cardiac Science Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the American Heart Association’s Miami office.  The AED was presented to the American Heart Association by Rescue AED Senior Accounts Manager Ruben Rayneri on May 18th at the Miami-Dade division community board meeting.  The AED will be placed in the American Heart Association’s Miami office, headquartered in a high-rise, off of Coral Way.

An AED is a small, portable device that can send an electric shock through the chest wall to the heart and restore a patient’s heart rhythm to normal levels before emergency crews arrive on the scene.  It’s a crucial part of the “Chain of Survival,” which is a four step process designed to save victims of sudden cardiac arrest.  Those steps include: (1) calling 9-1-1, (2) performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), (3) administering early defibrillation with an AED, and (4) getting victims early advance care.

The American Heart Association estimates that each day, more than 95 percent of Americans who suffer cardiac arrest die before reaching the hospital.  That equates to nearly 930 deaths a day, or 340,000 annually.  It’s estimated that 45,000 to 50,000 lives could be saved every year if AEDs were more widely available in the community.

RescueAED’s Annual Christmas Wish IMG_0438

Every Year at Christmas time we at RescueAED take the opportunity  to give back to our community by way of the Annual RescueAED Christmas wish.  We work together with the administrators of area Schools and select numerous families that if not for our program would not have a holiday.  Each selected family receives a gift certificate to Publix Supermarket and we also provide toys for all the children of the selected families.

To date we have made more the Christmas wish come true for over 50 families!  “This is one of the greatest programs that we offer at RescueAED”!  “To see the Children take their gifts and be so appreciative is something really special” recalls Joey Coker Accounts Manager at RescueAED.

This program started as just a Christmas time activity but to date we have expanded to Thanksgiving and have also offered assistance thought the year in times when the Schools have requested our assistance to such families that have encountered financial issues.

If you would like to make a donation to go towards the RescueAED Charitable Foundation, please email us at RescueAED@aol.comand address it to RescueAED Charities.  If we have sponsors and people that wish to donate funds to us, the amount of families that we can help can be endless!
